An Emirates Airbus plane flies to Australia with a hole in its fuselage
The Airbus A380 had been flying for 13 hours before technicians in Australia discovered a large hole in the fuselage. The incident is currently being investigated.

It’s not tight at all! The Emirates Airbus A380-800 flight was in the air for 13 hours – with a hole in the fuselage. The plane flew from Dubai to Brisbane on Friday. After landing in Australia, technicians noticed a large hole as the plane’s portal «Aviation Herald» reported.
According to preliminary investigations, a screw in the nose gear may have come loose during take-off. It may have hit the fuselage and caused a hole. As one passenger described in a blog, about 30 to 40 minutes after takeoff, there was a loud thunderclap.
The crew thought a tire had burst
Meanwhile, the crew on the ferry thought that the tire might have burst during take off. About an hour into the flight, the pilots received a low tire pressure warning. But since values were not important, they decided to continue flying. Nevertheless, before landing in Brisbane, as a precaution, the pilots informed the tower about the tower explosion and requested that the emergency services be on standby for the landing. However, it continued without any problems.
However, things could have turned out much worse. The crew and passengers were very lucky as the propeller hit below the pressurized chamber in the landing gear area. It is difficult to imagine what would have happened if the hole had affected the passenger compartment.
The aircraft will now be in Brisbane where it will undergo repairs. Investigations into the incident are underway. (chit)
