Our Story — Central HS

A forgotten role of Central High School’s past is that it served as a hub where students transferred to other buses in an effort to balance racial attendance in Columbus City Schools as late as 1977 due to a court ruling by U.S. District Judge Robert M. Duncan. The school was closed in 1982 due to declining enrollment and expenses. Today it now houses the Center of Science and Industry (COSI). It is a popular family destination that highlights technology, science, commerce and community. COSI has been operating since 1964. (Staff Photo)
