This is how Ukraine’s own secret service betrayed it

At the very beginning of the invasion, Brigadier General Andrei Naumov fled. The former head of the SBU internal security administration was arrested in Serbia three months later with 600,000 euros and 125,000 US dollars in cash and two valuable emeralds. He is believed to have been in contact with Serbian officials who had good relations with Moscow.

The treachery at Cherson had dire consequences. The Russian attackers knew the location of Ukrainian mines on the isthmus between the Crimean peninsula and the mainland. Ole Kulinich has been accused of collaborating with the Russians since 2014, sabotaging preparations for war and clearing mines along the border before the invasion. He was arrested over the weekend.

The behavior of Roman Dutin, head of the SBU in the strategically important Kharkiv region, borders on treason towards Ukraine. Zelensky fired him because “he selfishly looked after his own interests instead of working to protect the city from the first days of the war.” Law enforcement officials will find out what his motive is.

The Ukrainian prosecutor has provided the Russians with lists of soldiers and civilians killed, the locations of captured or detained Russian soldiers, the results of Russian airstrikes and passwords to pass through Ukrainian checkpoints. To move closer to the EU, Brussels demands new SBU structures from Ukraine. After his childhood friend Pagano was fired, Zelensky announced on Monday that 28 SBU employees, including the SBU vice president and several regional heads, would be fired “due to unsatisfactory work results.” He also expressed the possibility of rethinking the entire mission of the Secret Service.
