Just three weeks ago, Talitha Do Valle († 39) decided to join the war with Ukraine and resist the Russian invasion. Now the shooter is dead.
The Brazilian model became a victim of Putin’s troops – she barely survived a rocket attack in her bunker. He was killed last week in Kharkiv, a city in northeastern Ukraine that has been fiercely contested since the start of the Ukraine war.
Talitha Do Wale has participated in many humanitarian missions around the world. Most recently, the Brazilian fought in Iraq against the terrorist group Islamic State (IS).
She had already survived a bomb attack
Her brother Theo Rodrigo Vieira describes her as a heroine. He was called upon to save lives and participate in humanitarian activities. In Ukraine, he served as a rescuer and sniper, his brother said. According to reports, the fighter was allegedly responsible for, among other things, hiding Russian troops from advancing.
Do Vale survived a bomb attack in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv earlier. He told his family he couldn’t check in often because his cell phone activity was being monitored by Russian drones. Do Vale spoke to them for the last time when they arrived in Kharkiv.
Douglas Burigo († 40), a former Brazilian soldier, was killed in a rocket attack that killed the sniper. He returned to the bunker and searched for Do Valle – in vain. According to other fighters, he was the only soldier in his unit who was in the bunker after the first rocket attack.

His battle videos have been shared over 32,000 times
The model shared her war experiences on her YouTube channel. Some of the videos on the fight against IS have been viewed around 32,000 times. Do Wale’s channel also showed him undergoing marksmanship training with the Peshmerga, the armed forces of Iraq’s independent Kurdistan Region.
The model gained a certain popularity through her videos: a writer even worked with a Brazilian soldier and wanted to publish a book with him about his war experiences in Ukraine.
Do Wale worked as a model and actress from a young age and previously studied law. He is also involved in NGO animal rescue efforts. (dzc)
